Alex Grey is a mystic among us. An oracle for our time. And there is an abundance of life to be found in his artwork and in his writings. His mission, through art, is to awaken contemporary society to the possibility of having a pure and loving relationship with the infinite. And in my humble opinion, he’s doing a fine damn job of doing so. He is one of the few…which begs the question: Why are there so goddamn many who just don’t give a shit? But, in the midst of all that sorrow and pain brought about by the careless many, Alex Grey reminds us with his work that there is, always has been, and always will be more to us than we give ourselves credit for on a day to day basis.
On a bit more Earthly note, I have the biggest crush on his daughter Zena Grey.
